Pål Bråtelund

EARLY YEARS

Born in Hamar, just a long hours drive north of Oslo - Pål was more or less obsessed with musical instruments all since he was an ankle high. Especially guitars.

After trying out the clarinet, bass clarinet and saxophone in the local music school, he got into playing bass with the newly started Hamar Big Band.

It was about that time he picked up the music sheets and penned some of his earliest songs. Some of them is even included in his current reportoire.

LIPA YEARS

After a cul-de-sac year trying out law studies, he headed over to Liverpool and LIPA in order to take part in the first year of Paul McCartney`s entertainment school.

After being tutored in songwriting by the ex-Beatle himself amongst a handful of credible songwriters (others were Mark Knopfler, Mark Pearman of Sisters Of Mercy) - he gradually found his own voice as a singer/songwriter.

MASTERCLASSES

He also had masterclasses with an impressive list of entertainment names: George Martin, Jah Wobble, Fish (Marillion), Frank Gambale, Joan Armatrading, Brian Eno, Jose Feliciano, Glyn Johns, Steve Morse, Alan Parker and Lou Reed.

These include: Camp Houston (UK), Pangean (UK), Kate Havnevik, Anne Grete Preus, Sondre Bratland, The Margarets, A1, Christian Ingebrigtsen, Elsewhere, Jorunn Torsheim, Vibeke Saugestad, Lavie Hassani, Bal Musette, Suave, Gaute Ormåsen, 3rst, Mocci Ryen, Heidrun Bjørnsdottir (IS), Liam Lynch (US), Jeni Saint (UK), Ingi, Fat Tuesday (UK), Doc Delerious (UK), Lisa Stokke, Elisabeth Nord, Julie Thompson (UK), Beyond Dawn, Simon Poole/MrSGP (UK), Tone Damli Aaberge, Marte Heggelund and a little stunt at by:larm with Mira Craig.
